Active Assailant Training

The Office of Emergency Management and Campus Safety Services conduct basic Active Assailant trainings for all Temple University students, staff, and faculty who may be interested.

Active assailants are individuals who are actively engaged in harming people with a weapon, including a firearm, knife, vehicle or other device. These incidents are becoming more common, and on college campuses. Therefore, it is important to create a plan – and if possible, practice that plan – in the event you are confronted with just such a situation.

In this 1.5 hour training, we will cover:

1. How Temple Police are prepared to respond

2. What you can do to increase your chance of surviving such an incident, including run, hide, and fight.

Please see the calendar page for upcoming training dates. E-mail sjpowell@temple.edu with any additional questions, comments, or concerns. We look forward to seeing you there!
