Active assailants are individuals who are engaged in harming people with a weapon, including a firearm, knife, vehicle or other tool. These incidents have occurred in many settings, including on college campuses. In order to be better prepared for a critical incident involving an active assailant or shooter, it is important to create a plan for what to do in that situation. OEM and Campus Safety Services conduct active assailant training for all Temple University students, staff and faculty, and may range from 1 to 3 hours. Modules include the following.
