Active assailants are individuals who are engaged in harming people with a weapon, including a firearm, knife, vehicle, or other tool. These incidents have occurred in many settings, including on college campuses. In order to be better prepared for a critical incident involving an active assailant or shooter, it is important to create a plan for what to do in that situation.
