Commitment to Student Safety

At Temple University, the safety and protection of our students are our highest priorities. Keeping our community informed is essential for ensuring transparency and fostering a secure environment for everyone. To achieve this, Temple has implemented a range of communication tools to effectively relay important information to students, faculty, and staff.

One key component of our communication strategy is TUalert, Temple University's emergency notification system. TUalert delivers critical information via text and email regarding situations, incidents, or emergencies that pose an immediate threat or hazard on campus or within the university's patrol zone. Alerts may include:

  • Immediate action alerts for threats that require your attention
  • Updates on ongoing incidents
  • Advisories, such as road closures
  • All-clear messages to indicate that a situation has been resolved

Stay informed and prepared with TUalert notifications. Parents can sign up for TUalerts by texting 'TUalert' to 67283.

Your safety is our mission!

TUalert Email Notification System

Stay informed with the TUalert email notification system, designed to keep our community aware of important incidents and updates. Our alert system utilizes a color-coded approach to convey critical information quickly:

  • Red Alerts: Indicates an emergency incident that requires immediate attention. Please take necessary precautions and stay tuned for updates.

  • Yellow Alerts: Provides updates or informational events related to ongoing situations. This may include important responses or changes to the initial incident.

  • Green Alerts: Signals that an incident has been resolved and police have cleared the area. Normal operations can resume.

All temple.edu email accounts are automatically registered to receive TUalerts and all mobile numbers registered on TUportal receive text messages, unless the user opts out.
